Seed and series A funds fell 4% in 2024

Seed and Series A financings fell to $8.7 billion in 2024 from $9.1 billion in 2023, despite a nearly $4 billion total increase in overall venture financings. 

While the aggregate amount raised fell 4% last year, there was a 12% decrease in the number of seed and A rounds, following trends towards larger rounds overall. In 2018, new companies raised $8.8 billion in 356 rounds; in 2024, only 294 rounds nearly tied that amount. The counts only include rounds in which funding amounts were disclosed...
