JOB DESCRIPTION:

BioCentury is seeking a Data Analyst (biopharma) to work on BioCentury’s BCIQ database as part of the Data & Analytics team.

BioCentury provides independent deep-dive analysis, high-quality data and high-impact networking events for biopharmaceutical executives and investors in the U.S., Europe and Asia. We employ a fully integrated multimedia platform — including electronic publications, online data solutions, interactive websites, webcasts, and in-person as well as digital conferences. No matter where our customers are in the drug development process — from idea to patient — we help answer critical questions, decipher strategic trends, objectively evaluate product and business strategies, and assess competitive, financial, and policy risks.

Key Job Objective:

The Data Analyst (BioPharma) will work as part of a team of data managers who enter and curate data for BioCentury’s database platform(s) using a combination of manual and automated technologies, to provide BCIQ users with current, relevant and trustworthy data.

Responsibilities:

As a BioCentury Data Analyst, you are responsible for collecting, standardizing, and enhancing (metadata tagging) the data that feeds into our Commercial Intelligence Analytics tools. You will work as part of a remote team of Analysts, who are responsible for indexing relevant BioPharma scientific, clinical, and financial data within BioCentury's proprietary BioPharma Commercial Intelligence platform.

The Data Analyst (BioPharma) is required to collect and validate information using company websites, regulatory sites and databases, press releases and relevant scientific journals as necessary, to identify discovery, clinical, regulatory and manufacturing events in the drug development process, as well as financial, licensing, and M&A transactions. The Data Analyst will populate and curate BioCentury’s database platform(s) with the results of this research, and may contribute to efforts to streamline, improve or develop new processes to build the value of the Data & Analytics team.

The Data Analyst is required to ensure the work is aligned with corporate priorities and will liaise with multiple departments within the Company.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s (Life Sciences) and/or Master’s in Science (Life Sciences, Business, or Analytics).
• Familiarity with biomedical science or biotech an advantage.
• Experience researching or working with financial, clinical, research, or biological data sets.
• Experience entering, standardizing, structuring, curating, or managing data within relational databases.
• Robust competence with Excel or similar tool.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as productively within a team structure.
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team and deliver results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency with modern distributed working tools (e.g., Outlook, Slack, Zoom).

Preferred:

• Experience with SQL or Python
• Knowledge of the Drug Development lifecycle, and experience researching or reviewing information related to drug development, translational research or clinical trials
• Knowledge of private equity and commercial business practices (e.g., M&A, Licensing, Deals, Financing)
• Experience reading and interpreting primary research articles in the Life Sciences
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau

This is a full-time position located in the U.S. This position is not available in California, Colorado, New York or Washington.
